Hi my name is Holly May. HollyMay'd is a dream which Jason and I are making a reality. Holly May'd came out of my Favorite holiday, Christmas! Growing up I remember trying to make homemade gingerbread houses but they would inevitably sag and or collapse! As an adult the first time I attempted making a gingerbread house was for my niece when she was 3 years old. I carefully researched and made the
best and sturdiest gingerbread and icing possible. Not far into our gingerbread decorating we had catastrophic roof collapse! As i watched my nieces eyes well up in tears my father-in-law and I scrambled to repair the house. We came up with a structure to help stabilize the house. It worked and my niece was able to finish her first gingerbread house with smiles instead of tears! Now making gingerbread houses has become an annual Christmas tradition at our house. We can load our houses up with as much candy as we want without the fear of collapse! We have found our gingerbread houses to be very sturdy and if not eaten :) can last for months! The tradition is so popular that it now includes friends and the list keeps growing! This year while planning the annual Gingerbread House event we got to thinking that we wanted to share this with more people. We want to share the Joy! This is how HollyMay'd Gingerbread kits came to be. I have always found the gingerbread kits at the store to be too "cookie cutter" for my tastes and the picture promises more than you will get. The picture shows a dizzying array of candy but read the fine print and you will see only about 3 candy varieties are included, so good look recreating the look on the box. Our houses are homemade, very sturdy and bring that just like grandma feel and smell. Also they taste amazing... you can't say that about the store kits. Our gingerbread houses need very little assembly. Pull it out of the box and it will pop open and just set the roof on top. We include a generous amount and variety of candy so that your imagination can go wild. Make it uniquely yours and most of all have fun! Warning.... once you start this tradition you will fine it too much fun to ever stop! Now get to work and start building the gingerbread house of your dreams! Fun for all ages...
