The vibrance reminds me how refreshing something from God can be.

We’ve had a very busy couple of weeks, and I can honestly say the one thing on this homestead that’s been neglected is our strawberries.

I haven’t been out there to pick them but maybe once in the last two weeks.

As I was picking strawberries this evening, I felt the Holy Spirit remind me of what He spoke to me the last time I was out there picking, the spiritual fruit.

But this time, I felt Him say, “This is what happens when fruit isn’t shared.”

I knew He wasn’t talking about the fruit in front of me. He was talking about the fruit He gives us.

Most of the blessings and fruit we’re given aren’t meant to be held onto.

Think about it, a strawberry plant doesn’t eat strawberries.

When we are blessed by the Lord, we forget those blessings, were meant to overflow onto others. They were meant to pass through our hands as a blessing from God to someone else.

Sometimes our gifts and talents are the very fruit God has entrusted to us. Those gifts were never meant to be used only for ourselves. They were meant to be used for the good of others and for His glory.

We can become so focused on our own ambitions, our own schedules, or even the inconvenience of giving our time and talents away that we forget the purpose behind them.

But isn’t that what serving the Lord is all about?

“You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.”
- 2 Corinthians 9:11

“Thanksgiving to God” in Hebrew is to praise, to give thanks.

Our serving others is worship.

The more I thought about it, the more I realized the blessing isn’t the talent itself. The blessing is being allowed to be a part of what God is doing. It’s being invited to participate in the blessing of someone else.

There is something so fulfilling about realizing God is allowing you to be a part of something so Holy, to play even a small role in His plan.

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
— 1 Peter 4:10

Today I felt the Holy Spirit gently remind me of something that, in the busyness of the last few weeks, I had forgotten:

“I hear you, and I am working even when you don’t see me.”

Sometimes it’s so easy to overlook a blessing from God.
We call it an act of kindness from someone, a lucky day, or just a coincidence.

But so often, God is working through all things, even through people.

I think that’s one reason we can so easily believe God isn’t moving. We miss a vital step:

Reflection.

When good things happen in my life, I usually stop and think back to my quiet time with the Lord.
I remember the prayers whispered minutes, days, weeks, or even months before.

That’s when I begin to see His hand.

I see prayers being answered, usually not in the way I expected and often through other people.

And honestly, these last few weeks, I’ve skipped that step.

I’ve been so caught up in the busyness that I forgot to pause and reflect.

But I’m thankful for the Holy Spirit, who gently reminds us to look again and recognize that God has been working all along.
