In regards to Christmas scheduling! Happy Advent!!!

I will be doing a lighter baking year this Christmas, but will post when I have things available. I know already that I will have the Saint Nicholas Day cookies available after 9:00 a.m. this Saturday for a pop-up style pickup. $2.50/cookie individually wrapped. Just let me know if you would like any.

The week before Christmas I will be having a variety of shortbreads available and graham cracker cookies. $15 per dozen or if doing multiple dozen, $13 per dozen.

I am trying multiple different festive Christmas breads this year like the Portuguese sweet bread, swedish cardamom bread and might try one called sugar plum bread and some others. I will post as those become available, again for pop-up style pickup. If you think you might want one of these for a Christmas dinner or party, please let me know and I can try to plan to have it available and freshly baked for your event. (These breads usually have spices such as cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, citrus zest and currants, apricots and dried cherries. These fillings can all be adjusted to your taste)

I likely will not have much availability to do decorated sugar cookies, but may have time to do an order for those here or there, and will post if I happen to have availability.

"St Martin - Weckmänner supposedly resemble St Martin and are eaten around St Martins Day (11 November). In some areas, they are said to resemble St Nicholaus and are eaten until 6 December. Both were bishops.

Weckmann literally means ‘wake man’, more traditionally ‘watchman’. Weckmänner is the German plural of Weckmann. They are also known as Stutenkerle, Piepenkerle, Hefekerle, Kloskaehlsche, Printenmänner, Hanselmänner, Klasenmänner or Jahresmänner, depending on where you live in Germany"

Soul cakes for All Souls Day yesterday. Tried a new recipe from a great book, Cattern Cakes and Lace, and it's wonderful. Fall spices and currants make for a great flavor profile for this crisp biscuit
