Rainbow Prayers Rainbow Prayers is a ministry of Nottingham Presbyterian Church. We cover sick children in prayer with a literal paper chain of prayers.

Have you ever had someone tell you they are praying for you, but in the midst of your struggles, you just couldn't feel those prayers? Rainbow Prayers is a new Minsitry of Nottingham Presbyterian Church. We litterally cover sick children in chains of prayer. These prayer chains give children and their families a constant reminder that entire communities are surrounding their children in prayer at

the times when they need them most. Each link in the chain holds a prayer, Bible verse, well wish, quote, or lyric intended to lift up the children. We need your help to continue the mission. Please consider sponsoring a prayer chain drive. We'll mail or drop off links of construction paper to anyone interested, or you can cut your own 1.5"x12". You can currently fill out a prayer link at Nottingham Presbyterian Church, Bethany Presbyterian Church, or Wholly Grounds Coffee Shop. If you know of any children who are in need of a prayer chain, please contact us.

Natalie is in her last week of chemo prior to a stem cell transplant.
Father God, we pray that the amazing healing power you built into each of us, at creation, with our stem cells, would be the effective treatment Natalie needs to stay in remission. please protect her from infection while her immune system is temporarily wiped out. We ask these things through your son, our healer and redeemer, Jesus Christ. Amen

Rainbow Prayers is heading to Hopewell Elementary this Friday. Students will be creating links for more Prayer Chains as the mindful portion of their mini-Relay for Life. We are preparing chains for 2 little ones, but would really like to make one for an older child who will understand the gift, and personally feel lifted up as well. Please send us a message if you know an older child we can help. The students are going to generate enough strips for 5 more chains, at least, so please feel free to inundate us with requests.

It's National Day of Prayer. This post from 2017 seems perfectly suited for today.
We are still looking for our next Rainbow Prayer Chain recipient. Please let us know if you have a child in your life that is struggling with a long term illness.

After a recent tantrum, my 6 year old stopped crying, and said, "Mommy, when I cry, I see rainbows." While she was not mourning, it reminded me of Matthew 5:4, and the comfort the Lord provides to us in our times of great mourning; that through our tears, we may see the reminder that He keeps His promises.

We are thinking of all our Rainbow Prayer kids and their families. We know that the end of school year activities, while exciting for most kids, are yet another reminder of limitations for those battling illness, and another milestone missed for families who have lost their precious child.

We are praying for you during this time. And the next time you weep for your child, as the tears dry, don't forget to look for the rainbows.

May all those who have lost a loved one feel comfort in the hope this day brings.
