Lena’s story is one that stays with you. 💔

This petite little pittie mix was left behind after a house fire, found tangled in the debris and the tie-outs in the yard. She had already lost so much before she ever walked through our doors.

And you can see it in her.

Lena has the softest, sweetest demeanor, but she is so unsure of everything. She doesn’t quite know what to expect from people or what comes next. It feels like life has taught her, over and over again, that she can’t count on much.

But when she starts to feel safe with you, something changes.

She slowly melts into you, still a little unsure, still watching for what comes next, but wanting so badly to trust. And you can almost see the little pieces of her beginning to come back together.

Lena doesn’t need someone to rush her.

She needs someone who will be patient enough to let her learn that hands can be gentle, homes can be safe, and people can keep their promises.

Because underneath all that uncertainty is a sweet little girl who deserves the chance to finally blossom.

Lena has spent enough of her life wondering what comes next.

🌟 Lena is about 1.5 years old and 48 pounds. She hasn’t shown much interest in other dogs here, so it’d be best to bring the canine family members along for a meet. She would feel most comfortable in a calm household with older children (10+ recommended).
