Hi! I’m Summer — the baker, decorator, order-taker, dish-washer, photographer, and pretty much everything else behind Simply Summer Sweets. 😂🍪
If you’re new here, I thought it was probably time to properly introduce myself!
Simply Summer Sweets is my little home bakery where I get to turn someone’s idea into something they can actually eat, share, and celebrate with. From custom cookies and cakes to gourmet treats and DIY cookie kits, I love creating the little details that make an occasion feel extra special.
One of my favorite parts of this business is getting to know the why behind an order. A birthday. A baby shower. A thank-you. A milestone. Sometimes it’s simply, “I saw these and thought they were cute!” 🥰
And lately, I’ve been doing a little behind-the-scenes work on the business, too! I recently gave my website a refresh and updated my custom ordering process so it’s easier for you to tell me about your event and bring your sweet ideas to life.

This is simply the best homemade vendor fair in Minnesota! I've never seen another fair as organized and helpful as Maker Fair Minnesota! If you are able, please volunteer, it makes the day go better for all of us 😊

Only 47 days to go until Maker Fair Minnesota 2026! This year’s event is Saturday, October 3rd, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Nicollet County Fairgrounds in Saint Peter, Minnesota. There is still so much to do by us organizers and so little time to do it! 😬

We are still in need of quite a few volunteers. Trust us, we take care of our volunteers and make it worth their while with yummy food, drinks, t-shirts, and a nice gift from us! If you are interested in helping out, please submit your info on our website or shoot us a message if you have any questions.

We can’t wait to see everyone on October 3rd!

Happy Son and Daughter Day to our incredible crew! ❤️

They say it takes a village to run a business, and these four are the very heart of ours. Between our four kids, we have a crew of taste testers, built-in cheer squad, behind-the-scenes helpers, and the best support system anyone could ask for. Building this dream wouldn't mean half as much without them in our corner.

And yes... this photo is officially a throwback! 📸 Looking at it reminds us how fast time flies, which means an updated family photo shoot is very long overdue.

To our four amazing kids: thank you for your endless patience, love, and support. We couldn't do this without you!

The official flyer for the 14th Annual Maker Fair Minnesota handcrafted market is finally ready for sharing!

Our thanks go out to anyone who is willing to take a moment and share this post with their friends. With this year’s event happening on Saturday, October 3rd, one weekend earlier than usual, we could use all the help we can get making people aware of details regarding Maker Fair Minnesota 2026. The official event page will be created in the coming weeks.

If you submitted a jury application for this year’s event, but have not heard from us yet, please continue to be patient with us. Between the date change and all the applications we received from new vendors so far, things are taking longer than normal this year. If you are interested in selling at our event and have not submit a jury application yet, please head to our website and submit one before we fill all the remaining booths. Maker Fair Minnesota is always a sold out event, and 2026 will be no different. As always, thank you all for your continued support. You make this event possible!
