I’ll be restocking bowls today… but first, I have a little request. ❤️ with UPDATE
As most of you know, I finally opened our farmstand. Some of you have already stopped by, shopped, shared our posts, supported our friends’ products, and encouraged us — and I truly cannot thank you enough.
After everything that has happened over the past year, this little stand was a dream I honestly wasn’t sure would ever happen. It wasn’t created just for my family. I wanted a place where friends, could have another place to share what they love with the community.
And then this past week happened.
We have dealt with multiple complaints to code enforcement regarding our stand by the same individuals.
Posts have been made encouraging others to create issues surrounding the stand.
Complaints were also taken to local officials.
Our market planned to set up at Belk, and Belk received a message threatening community backlash if they allowed us to be there.
We moved the market to AMC, and they did the same thing as well.
This morning, I learned Owasso Code Enforcement had received complaints by same individuals.
Then ODAFF came to our farmstand because of complaints the same that had been reported at my market last season. And during all of this, I learned that complaints have reportedly been made regarding numerous other local porch stands, sheds, bakers, and small operations too. Also appeared to come from the same.
Fun fact- did you know if you report Anonymous that even though it says it is it still stores your information and shows who you are in some agencies especially government?😜
At some point you just have to ask…
When does it end?
These are people trying to bake bread.
Sell cookies.
Grow food.
Make products with their own hands.
Support their families.
Build something they are proud of.
Bring something good to their communities.
So today, instead of asking you to buy something, I’m asking for something different.
Please say a prayer.
Pray that this finally stops.
Pray for every small business owner, farmer, porch baker, maker, market organizer, and family who feels like they are constantly having to defend themselves when all they are trying to do is work hard and do something they love.
Pray for protection over the people being targeted.
Because tearing down someone else’s little dream does not make your own shine brighter.
First it was local farm stores.
Then farmers markets.
Now farmstands and porch bakers?
There is room for ALL of us.
Community over competition. Always. ❤️
Now… I’m going to go restock some bowls, keep building this little dream, and keep moving forward.
Update- 9/15 well today I woke up two numerous of the above vendors messaging my private
Page (odd) asking to be “vendors” in my “store” then list every store they are in but theirs. One said she saw a “post”
I went live and the email they used to harass all the local companies made a tik tok and while I was live jumped on my live.
So it is public record- my husband and I do have a judge signed court ordered protective order against these people.
Tonight I went onto one of the pages I am on and saw that an anonymous poster accused me of reporting everyone because I have a huge shed… seriously 🤔 there are 3 others in owasso- one even has a shop attached. 3 - 5 in Claremore again tell me not targeted.
