Saturday we said goodbye to Emily (left) and Arden (right).

Emily returned to Thunderbird Bakery this summer after completing her first year at UW Madison. She is a dedicated worker, a sharp problem solver, and someone who stays remarkably composed under pressure. On top of her weekday internship with WPS in Appleton, where she gained quite the experience following the summer tornados, she showed up nearly every Saturday morning to run our farmers market stand with warmth and reliability.

Arden joined us as a barista earlier this year after graduating from UW Oshkosh in the spring. Though she arrived with no prior food service experience, she quickly demonstrated a natural talent for the role. She is exceptionally efficient, a rapid learner, and brought so much joy to our shop with her dry humor and open heart.

We will miss both of them behind the counter, but we are thrilled to see what lies ahead. Arden heads to Concordia this fall to begin her graduate degree in physical therapy, and Emily returns to Madison for her sophomore year. Thank you both for your hard work, dedication, and the positive energy you brought to the bakery every day.
