Aloha ohana! We hate to have to make this video about our friend Deng, who we posted about a few weeks ago. Unfortunately he has been deported to Laos and has to start over in a country he has never really known since he fled with his family when he was 5 years old.

We are here to raise up a small contribution to help him rebuild and hopefully one day reunify - God willing - with his family.

We hope you can join us on May 30th 12-7pm at Rockridge Country Market in Enumclaw.

What an awesome day it was to be a part of | Anh Ơi Bake Shop grand opening! The community truly came out and supported with the line out the door and around the block!!!!

Mahalo to everyone who showed up and participated for this wonderful event! We at Sweet Hanako Bakeshop are so proud of Vince and Darryl for being so hospitable and allowing us to be part of the big day!

We thought Starting a business would mean more freedom and more control of our time. Rather the business now owns all of our time. It is exhausting. At least with most 9-5 there is an end to the day. As a business owner there is no end to the day it seems.

There are many days we feel we just want to throw in the towel. Not that we’re not “successful” but because we are tired.

Often times success - in the US culture - is measured in dollars. But dollars do not bring joy or contentment. We know if we continue with this business we will be measured as being very successful in Western American culture.

But at what cost? Bad Health? Bad Relationships? Burn out? Will any amount of dollars make up for those results?

This is what business owners are going thru day in and day out. Constantly negotiating with ourselves convincing ourselves and seeking validation from others.

Trust me the dollars are important. They pay bills. They pay the mortgage. They pay for more ingredients to fund the demand.

BUT… health is wealth. If you’re a small business owner struggling and grinding - Know that you are not alone. We see you. We appreciate you. Please take care of yourself.
