Isn’t there something soooo satisfying about a good buttercream braid?? This little guy was for a baby blessing this past week! It’s a vanilla bean cake with vanilla bean frosting, complemented by a nice tart raspberry compote. I forgot to take a side angle picture before we sliced into it, but it looks pretty yummy sliced up too! 😋

This one was a winner for SURE! For my birthday cake this year (yes, I like to make my own! 😅) I was feeling this classic flavor, but I wanted to see if I could make it the same way as I’ve done other cakes, rather than just in a pan... so It’s a layered “Better than sex” cake. Which—in case you didn’t know—is actually a poke cake. I was pretty nervous about stacking the layers and mostly just hopeful that it wouldn’t fall apart in the process. 😂😅😬
It ended up working out really well though and tasting SO good! It’s made up of 3 chocolate cake layers—each soaked in a caramel sauce, with a vanilla whipped cream buttercream and some whipped cream + Heath bar pieces between each layer, aaaall covered in whipped cream, chocolate syrup, caramel syrup, and more heath toffee chips to top it off. It was real good, guys. 🤤👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

It’s been a while since I’ve made/shared anything! Life has been a little crazy as of late, but this week was my husband’s birthday and next week my baby turns 2! 😱😭 We did a joint party for them, and E wanted a Dino party, so there definitely needed to be cake! From that, we got this tasty treat—a dark chocolate cake with chocolate marshmallow swirl buttercream and a graham cracker crumble to top it off! 😁 excuse the finger smudges, my 2 year old helped put the dinosaurs on and added his own touches to the frosting in the process. Haha 😅

My little nephew just turned 1, and guys. This Cookie Monster smash cake was so fun to make! Aside from the little cookie piece, all the decorating is totally made from buttercream! It was a chocolate cake with blue vanilla buttercream, and it was TASTY. 🙌🏻 Happy birthday little man!

This past week I got to do a few different cakes for a party, and it was a BLAST. Here we’ve got a chocolate chip cookie cake (divine), a classic red velvet with white chocolate buttercream (which I LOVE, even though I typically don’t like red velvet), and a Strawberry Nutella chocolate cake (also heavenly)!

This cake was delicious—even though it didn’t go exactly according to plan. 😅 it was a dark chocolate cake with ganache and toasted marshmallow buttercream... the leaves are also made from the marshmallow buttercream, but it turns out that letting my toddler help me pipe the leaves didn’t result in my best work. 😅 nevertheless, it was super yummy, and just right the right flavors for fall!
