Earlier this year, Edible Orange County interviewed me and asked why I share my recipes on my packaging. I told them that I’m not protective of my recipes because a dish or baked good is much more than a list of ingredients and instructions. Each person gets to choose the quality of ingredients they use and the techniques they try, and so your cookies will have your mark on them even if you’re using my recipe. Plus I have come to believe that you can taste the difference when someone puts their heart into what they’re making. ⁣

These last three years, I have put my heart into Andrea’s Bakehouse and I have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support I’ve gotten from you all over the last few weeks since I announced our closure. THANK YOU. My hope for Andrea’s Bakehouse was that it would be about more than just baked goods, and I’m glad to know it became about baked goods made with high quality ingredients that are shared with loved ones. Thank you for making that happen. ⁣

So, go for it and make the Andrea’s Bakehouse recipe at home. Put your heart in it and make sure to share a batch with your friends and family.

After three years, I have made the difficult decision to close Andrea’s Bakehouse at the end of 2025. Thank you to our customers, who made these last three years so meaningful. It has been a joy to serve you at the farmers market, events, and sourdough classes.  
 
We will be at the Orange Home Grown farmers market on Dec 6 and Dec 13. We will also be at the Redeemer Church Holiday Market on Dec 7. Plus we have two more sourdough classes! Sign up at the link in our bio. If you’d like to stock up on vanilla extract, handmade brown sugar, cookie mix, or sourdough starter, come see us at the farmers market or order on our website. We look forward to seeing you over these next few weeks!
