Long post ahead….

I started the year off with some big goals - to grow, get into wholesale and get into some new markets. I tend to be the type to go full send, pushing my limits when it comes to my capacity. I definitely did that last market season. By the end I felt burnt out and found myself unhappy (and unpleasant) on prep and bake days. Although this is a very part time gig (I’m a stay at home mom with a husband with a very busy work schedule), I didn’t feel like I was balancing being present for my family, taking care of myself and ENJOYING running my bakery.

I want a few things for my business. I want it to be fun. I want to keep meeting more great people in my little corner of the world. Most importantly I want my daughter to grow up and see that you can be a mom AND pursue your passions at the same time. (All you mom baker friends out there - you’re amazing! 💗)

So after some though, I’ve decided that this season is going to look a little different. I’m doing a third of the markets I did last year . My focus will be on porch pickups. I’d love to build a cart, get consistent with pickups and put out small batches of high quality goods. The go-getter in me hates the thought of doing less, but I think in the long run this is what is best for Rosemary & Rye.

So I need your help!!! If you’ve enjoyed any of my baked goods, please share my business with friends. Social media, markets and advertising does help but word of mouth has always been my #1 way of finding new friends to bake for. 😊

If I’m baking for my family, I don’t always use a scale. I measure with my heart. I don’t whisk the dry ingredients together. Everything gets extra vanilla. And flax seeds because I’m a little crunchy. I quite literally wing it in every way possible. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Try it sometime, it’s liberating. 😂

Pumpkin muffins because I have leftover cans from the fall - loaded with flax seed, oats, carrots, pumpkin pie spice, sweetened with maple syrup. My child approved. 👍🏻
