01/13/2022
Although 2021 left almost two weeks ago, I'm just now getting around to acknowledging its departure and to greeting all my new customers. I appreciate every single one of you. Without you, there would be no possibility of The Frosted Otter returning in a few months.
I started The Frosted Otter on a whim. I had wanted a bakery for many years but there never seemed to be the right moment to do it. Then, I was diagnosed with cancer in September 2020. In February 2021, I decided to register the new home bakery without much planning or really knowing at all what I was doing. I just went with the flow and in between chemo and radiation, I somehow pulled The Frosted Otter together.
Things took off in October. I never imagined it would do so well in such a short amount of time! Matter of fact, it was such a whirlwind, I didn't have time to finish designing the website. Depending on when you're reading this, it may still have the generic photos the original template of the theme came with haha! I will admit, I did then and still do have a lot to learn in this new profession but I will get there soon.
After three months of working 6-7 days a week, I'm taking a break. I'm going to focus on having a major surgery to beat this cancer and to make sure this business is done the best it can be.
I have been blogging about my journey for months over on www.TheIvoryBison.com but it was set to private because I was unsure if I wanted to share some of the raw moments with the world. For me, it's always all or nothing. I decided I would go all in only to have so many technical difficulties that I haven't been able to change the settings to public for some unknown reason. I plan to work on that in the coming weeks and get that fixed.
I will be back soon with more tasty desserts to share with all y'all and I may open up from time to time to accept orders for a few different holidays.
Until then, stay safe, happy and healthy!
