October is Filipino American History Month which is important to me as a 1st generation Filipinx American 🇵🇭 Come visit us Sunday, Oct 18th at the Filipino American Fiesta at the Museum of Ventura County put on by the amazing PINAYSPHERE PINAYSPHERE 🙏🏽 We will be serving special beverages from 10a-4p on Main St., the event officially starts at 11a. There will be a lot of local vendors, music, arts + crafts, traditional dance, etc! All are welcome!

Last photo is of me and my Papa Jose who moved to Chicago from the Philippines in the mid 70s. He was a computer programmer for many years until the computer industry changed drastically. I saw him and my mom (a RN) work so hard for many years to make it for our family of 6 in the US, my mom continues to in her 80s.

Salamat 🙏🏽

Local Ojai Business shoutout to Han Greene — body artist of Downtown Ojai Tattoo & Art Studio, 310 Fox St (right before the Athletic Club). The City of Ojai’s first ‘stamped and approved’ body art studio. It’s a collaborative and comfy space featuring amazing local female tattoo artists! She’s the best, and has so much rooted history in Ojai. “The Ice House” Tattoo Studio got its name being the original location for cold storage supplies in the Ojai Valley prior to refrigeration. This building has been in her family for over four decades and was where her Grandfather started his first business in the 1970’s. Book a session with her!
