Local news covering Regina Bakery!

Regina Bakery, which first opened in 1964, announced on social media that it is closing both of its west side locations as the bakery's owners retire.

A letter from Regina Bakery Owner, Tom Davis, C.M.B.:

My apologies for any confusion created by our farewell post on Facebook. Robin and I will be retiring in the coming weeks, and the name Regina Bakery will be as well. Our initial intent was for the bakery to continue operating as it does today, supplying many business partners across the west side and Indiana. The daily production of our many products by us and our employees is a daunting task. This is why you see fewer full line bakeries and more specialty shops. I have been actively involved in our trade associations for forty-five years as a Board Member at the local, state, and national levels. Over that period, Cincinnati has been considered a hotbed for bakeries. In the early 1980s, there were 250 bakeries listed in the Yellow Pages (for those who remember the Yellow Pages). This past spring, Brittany Hiser of Java Jackets approached us and told her vision to create a coffee shop bakery with a new, vibrant community gathering space. She intends to gather your “must have” Regina items to enjoy. It is my most sincere wish that the west side ensures these goodies never go away by supporting Brittany. Long live the neighborhood bakery!

Sincerely and with many thanks,

Tom

To our beloved community: friends, family, neighbors, and loyal customers,

It is with a heavy heart, but also with immense gratitude, we share the news that Regina Bakery will be closing its doors by the end of September. Baking has been more than just a business for us; it has been our life's passion. For generations, since 1964, and under our family's care since 1980, it has been our privilege to serve you. We've explored every possibility to continue, trying to sell the bakery to operate in the same manner as it does today. However, the time has come for us to embark on a well-deserved retirement. It's a difficult goodbye, but we're looking forward to enjoying some quiet years ahead. The memories we've made here are countless. We've watched your children become adults, and their children become customers. Our employees, many of whom have been with us for years, and even their children, are like family. We will truly miss the warmth of your smiles and the daily connections. Thank you for embracing us, for your loyalty, and for making Regina Bakery a special part of your lives and your happiest celebrations. It has been an honor.

Please note that our Miami Heights store and production facility as well as our Cheviot location are being acquired by Java Jackets with the intention of offering some of your Regina favorites, in addition to Java Jackets’ current offerings.

Love,
Tom and Robin
