Started in December 2024 with a jar of starter and zero clue what I was doing. Now? I’m still learning, still laughing, and still covering my kitchen in flour.

🍞 Well… it’s been 52 days. 😂

The Polished Loaf has been a little quiet around here!

Before my disappearing act, I was working behind the scenes on getting my cottage food license squared away. Then the last month took a bit of an unexpected turn, and I put that on hold while I spent my time volunteering and helping with our community’s wildfire relief efforts. 💙

But now things are starting to settle down, and I’m ready to get back to it — just in time for my absolute FAVORITE baking season. 🍂🍁

Fall + sourdough just belong together.

Over the next few weeks I’ll be getting back to working on my cottage license, dusting off the bread baskets, and getting The Polished Loaf back in action.

So stay tuned. 👀🍞

And in the meantime, if you’ve been missing your Country Classic, Jalapeño Cheddar, bagels, or another favorite… just send me a message. I can probably be convinced to fire up the oven. 😉

I’ve been crazy busy lately and have put baking on the back burner (get it 🤣) but my son wanted some Costco poppyseed/almond muffins so here they are! They’re delicious and dare I say, better than Costco’s.

Hi friends! 🤍

I’ve recently been getting quite a few spam/scam messages pretending to place bakery orders. Apparently small businesses and home bakeries are a big target for these right now. 😅

Because of that, I may start asking a few extra questions when taking orders, especially for larger/custom orders. I may also require a small deposit before booking certain orders.

Please don’t take it personally — I just want to make sure I’m talking to real customers and protecting my small business and time.
