Coffee lovers, this one's for you! Rich espresso ice cream is swirled with luscious homemade fudge ribbons for a silky frozen dessert that's bold, creamy, and absolutely irresistible.
Ingredients
For the Fudge Swirl
½ cup (120 ml) sweetened condensed milk
½ cup (85 g) semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
2 tbsp (28 g) unsalted butter
1 tbsp heavy cream
¼ tsp fine sea salt
For the Espresso Ice Cream
2 cups (480 ml) cold heavy whipping cream
1 can (14 oz / 396 g) sweetened condensed milk, cold
2 tbsp instant espresso powder
1 tbsp hot water
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
½ tsp fine sea salt
How to make it
In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, butter, heavy cream, and salt.
Stir until completely melted and smooth, then let the fudge cool to room temperature.
Dissolve the espresso powder in the hot water and allow it to cool completely.
In a large bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, cooled espresso mixture, vanilla extract, and salt.
In a separate chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
Fold one cup of whipped cream into the espresso mixture to lighten it.
Gently fold in the remaining whipped cream until smooth and fluffy.
Spread one-third of the ice cream mixture into a chilled loaf pan.
Drizzle one-third of the cooled fudge over the top.
Repeat the layers two more times.
Use a butter knife to gently swirl the fudge through the ice cream with a few figure-eight motions.
Cover tightly and freeze for at least 6 hours, or overnight, until firm.
Scoop and enjoy with an extra drizzle of fudge if desired.
Desserts so silky you’ll crave every bite 🍫✨
