Baked by Melissa Making life sweeter with bite-size treats 🧁✨🌈 Shipped nationwide and guaranteed fresh! Ever since she was a little girl, Melissa has loved to bake.

So when she was fired from her job in advertising in 2008, Melissa decided from that moment on she was going to do what she loved. Drawing on inspiration from the care-free rock 'n roll culture of the 60's and 70's and the idea that people should be able to taste more flavors without that post-dessert guilt trip, Melissa engaged the help of some key people in her life, and in 2009 opened the first Baked by Melissa shop, in New York City's SoHo district.

The holidays are my favorite time at Baked by Melissa. I love to put on my tie-dye onesie and go to the bakery. They don’t need my help like they used to (which is good!), but I do miss icing all the cupcakes that go out—it truly is my favorite thing.

December 5, 2019. Five years ago today I became CEO of Baked by Melissa. Not by choice but by circumstance. I thought I didn’t want the job but shame on me. I was pushed so far out of my comfort zone. I embraced the challenge and spent the next five years learning and earning my confidence. I am tired (haha), I am proud, and I am inspired by my team. In many ways, I feel the same today as I did five years ago. Baked by Melissa is on the cusp of something big.
