Give it up for John Gilman! We welcomed back John at our April IBWS event, as an expert on geographical terroir and the study of vintages, he was able to showcase the very best that 1999 had to offer- in honor of its 20th anniversary and the emerging golden age of these wines to be tasted!
Ranging from a select choice of French finds that survived with dignity from a hot harvest season in Bordeaux, to shining choices from Piemonte, which 1999 brought a great vintage of accessible finds- being 1999 was overshadowed by its two predecessors. We were all vocal about our enjoyment created by the spectacular showing of Produttori del Barbaresco, Montestefano, Riserva 1999. @ Boulud Sud NYC

Gastronomy is even better in real time!
First course from our annual evening at Boulud Sud/ Bar Boulud Private Dining Cellar.
This dish was mouth watering, melting into your palate with umami flavors of a light seafood reduction-while beautifully breaking into an egg yolk that naturally thickens the broth.

Cheers to another stellar kickoff of our monthly event. April’s IBWS evening was hosted at Boulud Sud by Chef Daniel Boulud , beginning with delectable bites such as fresh crab salad over grilled lime and Sturgeon caviar over house made Bellinis. All paired to perfection with a mystery glass of freshly-popped bubbly. It was revealed in due time to be Champagne Doyard Premier Cru- showing beautiful balance of The Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, with notes of bright apricot and lemongrass on the palate, and finishing with a creamy lush nature that Champagne does best. @ Boulud Sud NYC

We like get the evening started with an entertaining lineup:
