Kudos to macaron parlour: macarons featuring candied bacon and maple cream cheese filling...genius! Thinking about ways to incorporate bacon into brownies.

Thinking about delicious treats I'm planning on making. A sample:

Marshmallows: orange-blossom, rose, and vanilla-scented marshmallows. I think I'll dip some of the vanilla ones in dark chocolate and dredge in crushed toasted pecans. I could make peppermint ones and dredge them in colored granulated sugar -- kind of like Christmas peeps. Vanilla or peppermint marshmallows will be delicious floating in rich, dark hot chocolate. Can't wait!

S'mores cremes brulees: individual cups with graham cracker crust, chocolate custard, topped with caramelized sugar and a marshmallow toasted dark, sprinkled with graham cracker streusel.

I love eggnog, and in addition to eggnog French toast, I'm thinking of making an eggnog creme anglaise, or maybe pastry cream, to fill little golden cupcakes.

Which led me to consider making a cardamom-scented creme anglaise as a filling for golden cupcakes with rosewater buttercream.

And I think I will also make bourbon balls, maybe also do them with coffee liqueur.

I don't know if I'll make gingersnaps to decorate, I'll see how I feel.

And yes, I'm making brownies: cherry ones for Eric's office; working on a recipe for sugar-free ones.

I'll try to post some pics of these, so you can see how they work out.

Wondering if I should just start blogging about food in general. Everything makes me think of something food-related. Lately I've been ruminating on:

Making mashed potatoes: cook the potatoes in stock instead of water.

Cupcakes: I want to make a maple- or caramel-bacon cupcake. Sea salt optional.

Sweet potato biscuits. Need I say more?

Can I introduce wasabi into dessert?

A dinner that works in reverse: start with cheesecake or custard, work backwards to soup. Have several thoughts in mind.

Have to go pick up eggs, so I can bake brownies for the Brooklyn Friends of Chamber Music concert tomorrow. Any suggestions on what kind? I'm thinking it's time for Aztec -- add a little spice to the music.
