Friends, Happy Thanksgiving Day!

I hope you are now relaxing and enjoying time with loved ones or just in gratitude.

I am very grateful for this year. Despite it’s challenges I am grateful that I get to *focus in* and do what I love. I left corporate America for the last time earlier this year.
In this life, given and chosen, I get to be stretched and challenged in areas that I desire to grow in. I get to help create special memories in people’s lives through food and events. I get to discover the purposes placed in me on a daily basis. I get to work with amazing colleagues and clients. I am def living in a realm of a dream that I had as a young dreaming girl. Some days I still can’t believe it. Some days are really really hard and it’s hard to shake the fails but I always come back better and stronger and I will bless God for the great things He has done and is doing!

If you’re alive to tell your story, I hope you see it with a miraculous lens. We are miracles!

PSA: My pricing strategy includes self care. Self-care in the form of hiring the team to assist with executing the vision. Hiring support staff- cleaners, drivers, assistants, prep cooks as needed. I’ve done it other ways before…doing all I can to pass along savings to my client and working too many roles to hold on to meager “profit”. I wasn’t saving myself though. I’m gonna call it a phase because thank God I’m still here to tell the story. No self-love or preservation or sustainable growth was in that strategy. It was necessary Education, though…some call it “the hustle” 🤕😅. Include self-care in your process so you can joyfully continue. We are trying stay pretty, yes? 😍🥰

Furthermore, I don’t like cheap food (quality)so how can I offer it? The wrong kind of customer can make you who you don’t want to be but YOU have to insist on doing it your way and know your people will come and will truly support you. Wellness abounds for us all. One of my favorite things about being a Pan-African Chef & Caterer is having my clients fully represent their cultures as part of a special celebration. Why celebrate with defaults like Pigs in a Blanket when you can have your beloved Moi-Moi? (You can have both though 😍.) My goal is always for my clients to eat what they like. Good food is all good!

The other thing I love is, in a cultural context, creating the marriage of foods as found in the marriage of the couple. In their union, two shall be one and God-willing the wedding (and the world!) will better for it .
