A little history on the French macaron. They were created by nuns in the 18th century. The French macaron is made with almond flour, egg whites and other fine ingredients for the cookie in a variety of colors and is filled with a variety of ganache and fillings. French macarons are not to be mistaken with coconut macaroons....they are entirely two different cookies.
