Happy birthday to my nephew! He loves Pikachu and Pokémon! 💛❤️ It’s great to see him growing up and playing with his older cousins. It’s always a fun time when we get together! 😁

This my first time trying a decorated chiffon cake recipe from Maddison Clement . I took portions of the batter and colored them with AmeriColor food gel. Then I piped each color on the bottom of the pan on parchment paper in the design of Pikachu. This Pikachu is baked directly into the sponge cake! I put white chocolate whipped cream and raspberries in between the layers. It was a very light and not too sweet cake. 😉

Carter the starter is back again with this lovely sourdough bread loaf! I decided to do an experiment and leave the cover on my Dutch oven the whole baking time. It resulted in a softer crust and it was less browned. Haha my husband liked it a lot better since it was easier on his jaw. 😅

I gave extra sourdough starter to 2 people in my neighborhood “Buy Nothing” group yesterday. I think I may have given starter to more than a dozen people so far. Soon there will be many more loaves made from Carter! 😁

Happy National Toasted Marshmallow Day! 🩷 These are homemade marshmallows!! I used the recipe from Amy Chao’s cookbook, Super Cute. To make marshmallows, you make an Italian meringue and add gelatin. I piped the mixture into cute cloud shapes on a tray of cornstarch. I used black food gel mixed with some of the mixture and then used a toothpick to make the faces. Pink food gel with the mixture was piped into hearts and cheeks. Swipe to see the marshmallow pull apart! 😍

A beautiful cake for a beautiful couple! 💗 Happy engagement to my dear friends, Christen and Garland! 🎉 It was a pleasure to create this chocolate cake with chocolate Nutella frosting and strawberry jam. I created each of the petals with a palette knife and added edible gold from Barnabas Blattgold . I also made dark chocolate orange shortbread cookies because they are a favorite of the couple’s. 😁 There were so many compliments on the flavors and design of the cake from many who attended the party! 😄

I’ve been having fun experimenting with a lot of cookie flavors lately and thankfully my family and my husband’s coworkers have been so gracious to eat them all. 😅😁 There’s Mango, Matcha, Vietnamese Coffee, Ube, Black sesame, and Earl Grey. Which cookie would you grab first? 😉

So far, my husband and sister-in-law love the black sesame, my brother reached for the earl grey, and my sister’s favorite is Ube.

Happy National Tell a Joke Day! 😁

What did one blueberry say to the other blueberry? 🫐 If you weren’t so sweet, we wouldn’t be in this jam! 😂

This weekend, we visited my sister-in-law’s family and I brought this blueberry whipped cream chiffon cake. She exclaimed that this is her favorite cake now! 😄 Fluffy soft vanilla cake layers with wild blueberry whipped cream inside and around. A lemon blueberry compote sits on top of the cake. So delicious!!

Thank you Annie for ordering this lovely cake for your daughter’s birthday! 💗 This champagne colored cake has little edible pearls and large pearl sprinkles which I carefully placed individually. Annie told me that everyone said the cake was beautiful! 🌟

Happy birthday Kyle and Karina! 💗 It was a fun day celebrating with family! 😁 The kids were running around full of excitement and energy and maybe a little too much sugar. 😅😂 Kyle requested this Chocolate Dubai cake and I found out their favorite Sanrio characters are Pochacco and Cinnamoroll which I made into sugar cookies decorated with royal icing and edible marker.

Happy weekend! 😁 I had a lot of Carter sourdough starter so I used it to make these tangy butter sourdough crackers and paired it with tasty smoked trout dip! Both are easy recipes and they would be perfect as a snack or appetizer. The dip has Fishwife smoked trout combined with crème fraiche, cream cheese, lemon juice, and minced shallots. So good that my sister and I kept eating it! 😅

This weekend, we celebrated my niece, Laura’s birthday! 🎂 She often likes to laugh to herself while she thinks of things that amuse her. 😅 She is a faithful caretaker of her favorite doll, which she brings everywhere with her. When I am with her, she reminds me how one can smile and just enjoy the simple things in life. 😁
