A little over 5 years ago I found my purpose while sitting on the attic steps and staring at the this. At that point we had almost completed the renovation of a Queen Anne Victorian home we found by chance and felt head over heels with it as soon as the door opened and we saw the stain glass and the staircase woodwork. The house had been neglected for a while and most of its Victorian features had been removed or covered. It needed a lot of work so we got a great deal on it. A neighbor even says “you didn’t buy that house, you stole it”😂. To be continued…

As we approach our anniversary in a couple of weeks, I realized we have helped plan and host 22 weddings in 5 years.
It all started with friends wanting to get married under our gazebo during COVID when gatherings, even in open spaces were limited to a few people.
We have since moved indoors and although I miss hosting in our garden so much, we are very grateful to the couples who chose to celebrate their special day with us. To our brides and grooms of the past 5 years, we wish you much love and blessings!

So, this is a venting session as a result of a bad review from a mad customer who was told she could not bring her own decor to our restaurant.
Mind you, this lady was 5 months pregnant and pregnant women are sacred where I come from (nothing to do with being pro-life or not).
If you are pregnant, Cubans treat you like a queen and spoil you to no ends so you have some nice memories to hold on to during the though weeks post delivery! We tiptoe around you and over feed you. I experienced that myself on my first trip back home 25 years ago when I gained so much weight in a month, that my OBY here thought I had developed gestational diabetes!
That means I tried to be gracious and bit my tongue to avoid being sarcastic in my reply to her review. I’m well aware that controversy does sale but I just can’t get into it with a pregnant lady. Story continues in comments, please read!
