Four years ago today, after talking about it for 12 years, I finally decided to stop dreaming and start building.
It wasn’t an overnight success. It was a very slow burn.
Over the last four years, I’ve been the baker, the marketer, the photographer, the salesperson, the bookkeeper, the delivery driver, and yes… even the graphic designer (still learning!). What started out as just a Cookie company has morphed into, truffles, candy kebabs, sometimes cakes, biscotti and much more.
But the truth is, I didn’t do it alone.
I’ve had friends who helped me design logos, bag cookies, work events, brainstorm ideas, taste-test new recipes, share my posts, and remind me why I started when I wanted to quit. They’ve listened when I cried, celebrated every win, and picked me back up after every setback.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is this:
Collaborate, don’t compete.
Some of the most valuable advice I’ve received has come from other small business owners. We all have different strengths, different experiences, and something we can learn from each other. Collaboration doesn’t make your business smaller—it makes our entire community stronger.
Looking at this timeline reminds me that success isn’t built overnight. It’s built one customer, one event, one friendship, one collaboration, and one cookie at a time.
To everyone who has bought a cookie, shared a post, encouraged me, believed in me, or simply stood beside me through this journey… thank you. You helped build this dream just as much as I did.
Here’s to the next chapter. ❤️🍪 and this next chapter is going to be a beautiful one. Big things are in store for this little company.
