Today was my first day back at the Alfred Farmers Market after a two week long vacation and I could not be more overcome by the love and support from my market family! I know the weather was a bit wet but it was wonderful seeing so many of my regular customers and catching up with the other vendors.

There are times when I question if all of the hard work is worth it but every market and festival reminds me how much I love what I'm doing. And it is definitely a labor of love; I put in 40 total work hours just in the last three days! And even when I'm slogging in to bake at 4 am, I am still absolutely in love with this business. And it is all because of the people I meet, the friends I've made, the Family I've gained. Customers, festival and market organizers and other vendors

Greetings, my beautiful family!!

Vacation was amazing. One of the benefits of the medieval war I attend each summer is the market bazaar. One of my favorite vendors is Auntie Arwen's, a LARGE spice merchant!! Each year, I carefully choose a couple of their newer flavor combos to play with. This year, they had a ginger infused turbinado sugar!! YES, MA'AM! It got me to thinking about a cardamom infused sugar and all the possibilities!!

Pennsic was a well needed recharge and, as you can see, I am well rested and ready for the final weeks of summer. I'm home and baking hard for this weekend whete I will be vending at both StrOlean, in Olean, NY on Saturday August 15 and the Alfred Farmers Market on Sunday, August 16!
