If you’ve noticed that I’ve been a little quiet and MIA around here lately, I finally get to share the sweetest reason why. 💕

Our family received a beautiful little blessing a little earlier than expected…

Meet my granddaughter, Janice Rose. 🌹

Janice made her grand entrance on September 27th at 34 weeks and 4 days, weighing 4 lbs. 14 oz.

Her early arrival took us a little by surprise, and since the moment she arrived, a lot of Grandma’s time and heart have been right where you would expect them to be — with my daughter, our family, and this precious little girl. 💗

Janice is currently in the NICU, where she is growing stronger every day and working toward all the milestones she needs to reach before she can come home. We are incredibly grateful for every little victory.

So if the bread posts have been a little quieter, messages have taken me a little longer, or you just haven’t seen as much of me lately…this sweet little face is the reason. 🥰

I’m slowly getting back into the kitchen and back to baking, but I couldn’t do that without first introducing my baking community to the newest—and tiniest—member of the Faith & Flavor family.

Everyone, meet Janice Rose. 🌹💕

We would certainly appreciate your prayers for our sweet girl as she continues to grow stronger and gets closer to coming HOME. 🙏🏻

And something tells me Grandma may have a new little baking assistant in a few years. 😉🍞💕

Many of you know me as the face of Faith & Flavor Bakery, but what y’all might not know is the man behind the mixer. ❤️

And when I say “the man behind the mixer,” I mean that quite literally. 😂

Today Lonnie and I are celebrating 24 years of marriage, and I thought it was the perfect time to give some praise to the other half of what happens behind the scenes at Faith & Flavor.

On dough days, while I may be the one you see posting pictures, answering messages, taking orders, shaping loaves and showing up at the market, Lonnie is right there beside me doing the work that gets all that bread started and making sure that I have everything I need to make the market as successful as it can be.

He’s mixing the dough, dicing jalapeños, shredding what sometimes feels like a mountain of cheese, and getting batch after batch of dough ready to shape and bake.

So when you pick up that Jalapeño Pepper Jack or Onion Cheddar loaf, there’s a pretty good chance Lonnie had a hand in making it. ❤️🍞

Faith & Flavor started as my dream, but somewhere along the way, my husband got pulled right into it with me. 😂 And I honestly couldn’t do what I do without him.

He works beside me, supports all my crazy ideas, encourages me when I’m exhausted, and somehow still doesn’t run when he hears me say, “So…I was thinking…” 😂

Today isn’t just about the bakery, though. It’s about celebrating 24 years with the man I love and the life we’ve built together.

Lonnie, thank you for always being in my corner. Thank you for believing in me, for working beside me, and for putting so much of yourself into something that started as my dream simply because you knew how much it meant to me.

I may be the face of Faith & Flavor Bakery…

…but now y’all know the man behind the mixer. ❤️

Happy 24th Anniversary, Lonnie. I love you, and I’m so thankful I get to do life—and apparently make a whole lot of bread—with you. 😂❤️🍞
