Fairy Tale Week gave us magical dress up, unicorn traps, and even a unicorn ride. Then, STEM Week bubbled over with slimy experiments, sink and float challenges and handmade volcanoes that erupted in the best way. We are having so much fun at Sukha Summer!💚 🌋 🦄

Two weeks of Sukha Summer down! ☀️We’ve conquered LEGO Week, had the most fun on the water slide, and wrapped up Creative Crafting Week with a sock puppet show that deserved a standing ovation. 🎭🌈If this is just the beginning, we’re in for a great summer!

🌳 🌍 Happy Earth Day! 🌎 🌱 Today we celebrated the greatest planet in our solar system by being conscious of using light and water. We also made self portraits using recycled materials, checked some things off of our Earth day bucket list, watered our veggies in the garden, bird watched and hugged all 15 trees on our playground! What a wonderful day to be alive on planet Earth! 🙌🏽✨

Our non-nappers took an afternoon adventure right behind our school on the Mississippi River batture to forage for berries. We found lots of wild black berries and mulberries. Our fingers are stained purple and we have bellies full of sweetness. Thank you, Mother Earth for all of your treasures!

We had such a wonderful author visit from Ms. Ashley .ashleyreadingcoach this morning! We got an exclusive reading of The Vowel Story, were introduced to the special characters in the book, and even got to solve a mystery by reading a letter written with no vowels! The Sukha students were so excited for this fun Friday activity and were buzzing about vowels all morning long! If you are interested in buying her book for your home or your classroom, clink the link in her bio! Thanks, Ms. Ashley, we are so happy to have a copy of your book in our classroom library. 📚

Independence is at the heart of a Montessori classroom, where children are trusted, capable, and empowered to do things for themselves. From preparing their own snack, to choosing their own work each small moment builds confidence, focus, and pride.

“Never help a child with a task at which he feels he can succeed.” — Maria Montessori
