For some New Orleanians, Christmas Day was spent giving back.

Planning on baking goods this Christmas for your family? Maybe you could bake an extra tray and share it with someone in need.
We will be distributing food and clothes to those in need on Christmas Day. Help us spread a tiny bit of joy!
Have a pile of blankets/ socks/ hats/ warm clothes you’ve been meaning to donate? We’ll take those too!
Please drop off all goods in Gentilly (DM for address).
Don’t have anything to donate but want to help? A cash donation works as well, it will be used for buying dry goods (granola bars, non perishable ready to eat food etc).
And lastly, SHARING this post will help more than you think!

Please share!
No one should go through the holidays without a hot meal. Even though we can’t possibly feed everyone, Diana will make a big batch of stew and will distribute it to part of the homeless population in New Orleans.
However, we would love to also add some bread/cornbread to the stew and maybe something sweet as well!
If you’re already planning on baking some cookies for Christmas, maybe you could bake a few extras for this?
We’d also rather spend the money that we already have on more food, so if you have any to go cups, bowls or containers we could serve the stew in, we’d love them!
Planning on having extra at the end, so jars with lids would also be helpful, to be able to offer people some for later.
And last thing, we’d need the items dropped off in Gentilly or Bayou St John!

Haven’t cooked in a while because… well life. But hoping to get back at it and do this on a more regular basis.
Family size + single serving size chicken stew dropped off this morning.

40 sandwiches were dropped off at 2117 Claiborne and 2425 n Miro.
All labeled, but there’s a choice of white/wheat, ham/turkey breast and Mayo/mustard. They all come with chips and fruit 💚

On our way to drop off some sandwiches at 2217 Claiborne and Elysian Fields & Marais fridges.
Dropping off bags with a sandwich (ham or turkey) and some snacks (majority of bags had chips, fruit cup and something sweet). All bags are labeled and dated.
The reason why we’ve been doing more sandwiches : it’s fast, it’s hot outside and these 2 fridge location are visited by a large number of homeless people and it’s nice to find some food that doesn’t need to be reheated.
Share your wealth if you’re able to.

Vegan coconut curry dropped off at
-2217 Claiborne
-1915 third
-Elysian Fields and amarais fridge
Plus dropped off some frozen hot dogs, bread and corn in the freezer at Elysian Fields and Marais.
Besides this there was barely any food. The last fridge had some food but it wasn’t labeled or dated so have no idea what it was.

Mother’s Day meals from us!
All bags contain a sandwich, bag of chips, granola bar, fruit and a sweet treat. Dropped off at the Claiborne and Elysian Field fridges (both sides). Both were empty except for these- left 20-25 bags at each fridge.
Hug your mom today if you can 💚

Both covered with a delicious homemade enchilada sauce and a plethora of cheese
