Just Sweet Things

Just Sweet Things Just Sweet Things was started in November of 2020. The story of my business is unique. I am a retired ER/ICU/PACU nurse that also owns a dog training business.

I have always enjoyed baking but I never considered selling my baked goods. In July of 2019 I came upon a cyclist on the side of the road that was in cardiac arrest. I did CPR, someone brought an AED and I was able to get his heartbeat back. The ambulance came and I had no idea if he would survive. A few weeks later he got in touch with me and we talked for quite awhile about all things possible.

He told me his favorite cookies were chocolate chip. He also told me he was a cycling coach and his nickname was "The Champ". I played around with some recipes and baked him some over the top chocolate chip cookies. He thought they were the best and encouraged me to start selling them. He also declared that the cookies would be called "Champ's Chocolate Chip Cookies" He persisted that I need to sell the cookies and so began "Just Sweet Things.
