All Roads 2 Recovery is a local nonprofit that meets those struggling with addiction exactly where they are in their journey.

They serve a men’s home, and additionally have the Rocketman house - the only LGBTQIA+ recovery home in the state of Indiana!

They actively help people find and keep jobs, sustain their sobriety and most importantly they help them feel like they are home.

With your purchases of rainbow items in the month of August, we were able to donate $125 to help them with their mission. 💜🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

All sales of rainbow items for September will go to All Roads 2 Recovery, you can visit their page for more ways to help them in their mission!

What is an ethical humanist?

From KA Goodman History of Ethical Humanism (Ethical Culture):

a humanist and non-theistic philosophical movement centered on ethics and moral action rather than religious doctrine or supernatural beliefs.

Ethical Culture was founded by a former Jewish rabbi and philosopher, in New York City in 1876 who believed that “deed, not creed” should be the basis of a moral life, emphasizing action over belief.

Core Principles from the Start
👉Every person is worthy of respect and dignity.

👉The aim of life is to create a more ethical world.

👉 Moral progress comes from ethical relationships and social engagement, not religious dogma.

Northeast Indiana Ethical Humanists have a huge focus on food security, they've even home delivered food to individuals that can't leave their home.

They do whatever it takes to make sure that many local food pantries are filled with necessities.

For the month of August we donated 10% of sales of gift cards and bake it forwards to help them get their next pantry haul totaling $25!! 💜

All September gift card and Bake it Forward purchases will have 10% go to NEIEH 💪🥰

I'm not just talking outta my ass, I'm trying to build a business 😂

So, I did not make goals last week. Goal since June is enough to STAY OPEN. Not to pay myself, not to be rich. Just to STAY OPEN.

I do NOT pay myself right now other than gas for deliveries.

I keep getting told I should just shut down. But I will not as long as I have hope, and hope is about all I have 😂

This biz can be and has been super successful. We have been RIGHT ON THE EDGE OF THAT for MONTHS. 😬

This isn't a pity post, just letting you know the other side you don't often see in business. Why can't we normalize the struggle, the hope, the fear, and the grit?

I am probably going to add a shipping fee of $5 for orders under $35. Why the jump in cost? Because I'ma do whatever I can to keep going, and my average order value has increased to $35 so that's where free shipping will hit. That being said it'll prolly take a few days for me to make the change.

(HINT HINT)

Today is the end of my grace period to pay my kitchen rent. They have been so kind to let me switch to week to week until business picks back up, then I can go back to monthly. I will be moving some personal bills around to cover it. And hope that we can hit it by next Monday.🤞

Once again, this is not the end. It's always on the edge of that, but this new system and the grace of my landlord WILL get us thru this. 💜 I'm not going anywhere 😘

We have so much more good to do! So much more love to spread! So many more lives to touch! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Today, I am going to rest and 'fix' my personal bills to grab a little and see what I can move around to keep going another week.

I am 'planning' on doing the next bake sesh tonight 💜

I may do another giveaway but if I do it'll be fast and furious, so you may want to stay tuned throughout the day.

I will be making our August donations to a local nonprofit. This percent of rainbow item sales gets set aside and is not counted toward revenue. More on that later this afternoon.

Behind the scenes business update!

Did I take a bunch of pictures of the last bake sesh? Nope.

Did I work from 4pm-330am then 930am to 430pm? Yep.

Orders #1810-1816 and 1824 (replacement) all went out today, baked FRESH last night and this morning. 1817-1823 is the next batch, but tonight I need just a tad bit of rest 😂

However, the turnaround is starting to be much quicker for y'all doing batches like this, and I believe there will be better accuracy and a big reduction in oopsies, along with a near zero chance of getting a brownie that isn't baked within 24 hrs of shipping! 💪

Not to mention everyone is RAVING about the new brownie shape and texture 💜

But the cookies!!!! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🥰

Oh and the snickerdoodles just got fluffier bcs....well what happened was.....the test batch (beautiful fluffy pictures) was amazing, and I couldn't figure out why they weren't as fluffy after that.
Welp, as I was coming up with recipe files for a binder I realized I wasn't separating some of the sugar out for the cinnamon sugar so they were spreading instead of proofing 😬

You'll have to let me know what you think of the RIGHT recipe 😂🤷

Replaced a ton of white paper brownies last week bcs I will always try to make it right. Just gotta keep improving and learning from mistakes and developing new systems to reduce the chances of repeating them. That's lots of words.
