This past weekend, I returned to New York City to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the High School of Fashion Industries

I reunited with my high school besties, walked the halls that helped shape my future, and caught up with teachers, administrators, and friends I haven’t seen in years. Like many places from our childhood, the school felt much smaller than I remembered.

One thing that definitely changed? The sewing classes now feature machines. Back in my day, we learned on industrial machines.

Standing in those classrooms reminded me how fortunate I am to now share sewing, crochet, knitting, and creative skills with the next generation through Endangered Stitches®.

The seeds of what we do today were planted there many years ago.

Last week, Endangered Stitches® had the incredible opportunity to participate as a vendor at the Yale Innovation Summit.✨

As the Northeast’s largest innovation event, the Summit brought together founders, investors, researchers, entrepreneurs, and changemakers who are working to shape the future. It was inspiring to be surrounded by so many people transforming ideas into impact. 💡

At first glance, a fiber arts studio may seem out of place among biotech startups, climate innovators, and emerging technologies. But innovation isn’t limited to laboratories and software. Sometimes innovation looks like preserving traditional skills, reimagining how they’re taught, and building community through creativity and hands-on learning.

We were honored to share the Endangered Stitches® story with attendees, connect with fellow entrepreneurs, and showcase how craft can be a powerful tool for education, wellness, sustainability, and economic opportunity.

Thank you to and everyone who stopped by our table, asked questions, shared ideas, and supported our mission to revive lost crafts for future generations.

The future is built by people willing to create, and we’re proud to be part of that conversation.
