During my little hiatus, as we were adjusting to life with our little dough boy, I wasn’t completely away from baking. While we were up in Canada at the lake, I spent a lot of time practicing baking in a totally different environment. Every oven has its own personality, and the cottage oven definitely kept me on my toes. Without air conditioning, the dough was rising faster than I was used to, and I had to play around with proofing times and baking times to get it just right. It was a challenge, but such a good reminder that sourdough is all about adapting and learning.
Last week, I officially got back into the kitchen here at home, and let me tell you — it felt so good to be back with my own oven, my own rhythm, and familiar loaves. I can’t wait to keep baking again and share fresh bread with you!
“Taste & see that the Lord is good!”
Psalm 34:8
As I am mixing, shaping and baking, I am praying over each loaf - that these loaves bring more than flavor, but that they bring a little glimpse of Jesus’ love to every table.
