Growing up in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley, Kiffles were a holiday must-have. These Hungarian cream cheese pastries have a delicate, flaky crust and a rich, buttery walnut filling that practically melts in your mouth. Today I decided to start practicing my cake decorating skills so I can expand the services at Lizzie’s Place Bakery. It didn’t turn out exactly how I pictured it, but I know practice makes progress, and God blessed me with this gift for a reason.

While I was decorating, I thought about a Joyce Meyer sermon I listened to yesterday. She said, “Sometimes we’re too afraid of being wrong, and it just paralyzes us.” That really hit home for me and made me think about all the times I wanted to open my bakery but held myself back. Now here I am, fully launched and doing what I love.
I just want to remind anyone reading this to give yourself grace, be patient with your journey, and use the gifts God gave you. We all have a purpose, and I hope this encourages someone who might be in the same place I once was. 💛🎂

I guess it’s time for a proper ‘meet the baker’ moment!

Hi there! 👋🏼

I’m Jasmine Rodriguez, the owner and baker behind Lizzie’s Place Bakery in New Braunfels, Texas. Opening a bakery has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl. Over the years, my journey through the service industry and sales helped shape me into who I am today — giving me the skills, discipline, and heart to bring this dream to life.

Our bakery is named after my grandmother, Elizabeth “Lizzie” Hothouse, who inspired it all. Lizzie had a special way of bringing people together through her kitchen — her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and something sweet baking in the oven. At Lizzie’s Place Bakery, I hope to carry on her legacy by creating that same sense of love and community through every treat we make.
We specialize in small-batch, scratch-made baked goods — everything from specialty cookies and cakes to dessert displays, dipped treats, and cinnamon rolls (and so much more!). Each item is made with care, quality ingredients, and a whole lot of heart.

Fun Fact: I launched Lizzie’s Place Bakery in just one week! It was definitely scary to take that leap, but I knew deep down that God placed this dream on my heart for a reason.

Now, only two months in, He’s already opened so many doors and brought the most amazing people into my life through this little bakery. I can’t wait to see what’s next — this is just the beginning, and I’m so excited for what He has in store!
