Ever have a bomb recipe you created & thought you'd just remember it but, when the time came to recreate it, you couldn't remember?

Story Time: Before I established the Sweet Shoppe, I'd cook & bake at the holiday season for social gatherings with family & friends. Collards hold a bit of sentimental value because they were the first food I learned to pick, clean & prepare for cooking. Seasoned just right & tender.
Then came time, I was asked to bring dessert & haven't had much experience baking at that time besides box mix cakes, I thought the sweet potato pie would be easier. Welp, it wasn't and I knew it when it went untouched at dessert time.
So... from that experience I decided to do a few trial runs preparing the sweet potato pie a different way & try different flavor profiles until it got to how I wanted it to taste. Smooth, velvety, & just the right amount of sweetness from the natural sugars in the sweet potato. Needless to say, this recipe is what inspired and the recipe journal. A place to write the recipe and the memories made along the way.
