Believe it or not, the trees in front of my house are still green. Every year I hope and pray they'll turn the nice red we thought they would when we planted them! And every year they stay green until it snows and my husband ends up raking dead leaves off the tree 😂

At least I can make cookies to match my fall tree dreams 😁

I often get asked how I started decorating cookies. This is it! My son wanted Daniel Tiger* for his birthday and I thought "how hard could it be?" 😂😂

8+ hours and 1 dozen cookies later, I learned. Cookies are an investment, a labor of love. But the seed was planted! My supplies grew more sophisticated, I found recipes that worked better for me (no thank you, rock-hard royal icing 😉), and I found the cookier world to be full of beautiful and helpful people.

So much learning occurred in the last year, and I can't wait to see what tricks and tools I get to add to my arsenal in the next year!!

*For the record, I'm sorry but I do not sell character cookies. This was a one time deal for the one who made me a mama!

I've been using my brother's upcoming wedding as an excuse to start dreaming up sweet little Valentine's cookies! I just loved the romantic feel of this plum color, and the chance to play with new fonts and textures.

Don't be fooled...cookie decorating is a hefty time commitment! This little guy was part of a fun round for me that was shared with family and friends, but I'm gearing up for new designs to come in January and February!
