Good morning Everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day.
I thought I'd post a few tidbits on what bakers/cake decorators need to know when you order a cake or desserts...
***An email, pm or text is great for a heads up that you want to order, but a follow-up phone call is so much better. Most of the time a baker/cake decorator is busy baking, decorating, setting up, driving or shopping for supplies and can't answer an email, pm or text right away, so please follow-up with a phone callπ
***We need your name, phone number and location. The reason for your location, for example, you could say "I live in Springfield". I actually had a customer tell me this, and after I baked the cake, and designed it, the customer, after asking for her address for 3 days, sent me the address only to discover she's in Springfield, MASSACHUSETTS! While I do travel to locations outside of Tennessee, there would be more of a delivery charge than $30.00 and I need more than 2 hour heads up for a long haul delivery. It's up to the customer to check the location of the baker and to see what their delivery requirements are. π
***For cakes we need serving count, flavor or flavors, desired design location of event and if delivery and setup is requested to give an approximate quote.
***For desserts or charcuteries, we need the same information for cakes, but also, if you'll want to use our decor and board setup to get an accurate quote.
***For a traditional size, design and flavored cake, I need at least a 24 hour notice.
For Specialty, Gourmet or Tiered cake, a 3 day notice would be ideal.
(NOTE) If you're pregnant and the baby just won't give in, I can get a traditional cake ready in 3 hours. This has actually happened on several occasions lol π€£
I hope all this info helps whenever you place an order for a delicious dessert with you local or favorite baker!
Have an awesome day and remember, you can just order a birthday cake anytime and eat it yourself....nobody checks ππβ€οΈ
