Yep, we all have our favorites. I love my customers that come to the table and I’m already bagging their order.
My sweet teacher that always gets a Fun Freddy, a CCC and a Chocolate M&M. It’s her only consolation after a week of dealing with middle schoolers. Summer cannot come soon enough! Whenever I see her, the urge to give her a stiff drink or my favorite blankey so she can sleep is overwhelming. As someone who has no human children, I think you’re a saint. Amen and hallelujah.
There’s Kayla, who loves anything oatmeal. She doesn’t discriminate. The woman loves her fiber. 💪
Young polite Josh, who gets 1 CCC (no bag please) to put in his backpack and will excitedly tell me about his trips to ComicCon (or something like it). He also wants to tip me. Josh, the Food and Bev community take you as one of our own now 🥹
Dalton & Spencer are the sweetest tiny humans who get things from “the secret box”. It’s a small stash of cookies made just for them. *Do not ask me what’s in the box. That’s between Dalton, Spencer and myself! Go on now, git! 🍪🍪
And then there’s Kari 🥰. My adorable little 3yr old whose world might possibly end and whose parents will have to deal with the aftermath if there are no Fun Freddies left. We learned this the hard way. The panic we felt was unfathomable. (Picture this…the current customer said “I’ll take the last 2 Fun Freddies”. I look at Kari’s mom who’s next in line. She looks at me, I look at Dad, we all look panicked as Kari sees nothing on the table. A collective “ooohhhhh fuuuuuudge” escapes my lips as the largest tears I’ve ever seen start welling up. The cries were heard all the way to Montana that day. Thankfully I have awesome customers and the 2-Freddie woman immediately gave Kari one of hers and made her kid pick a different flavor. How many people can I nominate for sainthood? Or maybe a key to the city? Note to self: talk to the mayor…)
Now Khari has his own special cookie wrapped up and set aside. And it’s always the biggest one I can find. I love this kid ❤️
And that ends today’s episode of “Tales from the Cookie Chick”.
