I love making buttercream bark. Looks like it would be difficult and take a lot of time, but it’s actually pretty easy. Start out with a lighter brown base. Let it firm up in the fridge or freezer for a few minutes. I used a couple different fondant tools to make the texture, and then went in with a small angled spatula to create some definition. Then used my airbrush to bring it to life.

We celebrated a special lady yesterday, my MIL. 🥳
One of her favorite treats is a tin roof sundae 🍨 So, I decided to try it out in cake form.
What’s inside? Top and bottom layer of vanilla cake, and vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate ganache and chopped nuts in the middle.
I probably should have let it thaw just a little longer before trying to cut it. The top layer wanted to slide off the middle layer of ice cream, because I had layered it with the chopped nuts, and there was nothing for the top layer to kind of stick to (like frosting). But, it was good, and it was fun to try something a little different.
The best part was celebrating this special lady 🫶🏻🥰🎉

This past Monday, we celebrated my daughter’s 27th birthday 🥳 When I asked her what she wanted for her special dessert, she said she wanted brownies and ice cream 🍨 I couldn’t just do a plain old pan of brownies (not that there’s anything wrong with plain old brownies), but she ended up with this 💗
