Finally found the wild ponies across the state line in Virginia. We recently hiked a 5-mile figure 8 loop in what was surprisingly a still-covered snowy tundra. Right off the Appalachian Trail, we found six of the wild ponies grazing in Grayson Highlands State Park. I brought my good camera and telephoto lens with me so I could take pics from a safe distance. The ponies are wild, so do not try to pet or feed them. Just beautiful!

When the creek is too high and you don't want to get your feet wet, this is how you continue on the trail in . Thank goodness hubby was with me for this one so he could assist in getting us across this log. I still had to carefully scoot myself and balance on the log to get across a 10-foot section on the trail to Cove Creek Falls. Would you do this? 😂

Savannah's historic Bonaventure Cemetery plays a big role in both the book and movie. The cemetery also happens to be quite photogenic. ❤️

Misty and foggy nights just add to the atmosphere in . It also makes 200-year old cemeteries look a bit creepy. But I love this Southern city!

Still dreaming of those German Christmas markets! Did you know that about 3 million people visit Frankfurt during the Christmas season? I was surprised to learn this because I always think of Frankfurt as a financial hub, but the Old Town is actually quite pretty. Have you been to Frankfurt? 😍

Some recent Christmas market scenes from Düsseldorf, Germany. We've visited here several times over the last 10 years to see our friends. Although Düsseldorf is the seventh largest city in the country, I think there's plenty happening here to make it a worthwhile destination. 🎄🎄🎄

Always one of my fav Christmas markets in Germany. After we landed in Frankfurt, we took a train to Cologne and visited the Christmas market held in the shadows of the grand Cathedral, which dates to the 1200s. This is the largest Gothic church in Northern Europe and has the second-tallest spires.🎄
