Here’s why Sugar + Smiles exists. It’s more than just baking. It’s about the memories, traditions, and stories that brought us here.
Allison’s story began in the kitchen with her mom, making no-bake cookies together. She also looked forward to making Christmas cookies with her dad every year. Those moments became cherished memories and traditions that she still holds close to her heart. As she grew older, married, and started a family of her own, her passion for baking continued to grow. Childhood memories inspired her to create those same meaningful experiences with her children. Seeing their smiles made her love baking even more.
Hannah’s story began over 10 years ago when she started decorating sugar cookies at Christmas. What began as a fun holiday tradition soon became something she truly enjoyed. Inspired by her mom and Nana, Hannah taught herself how to decorate, developing new techniques and refining her skills over time. Eventually, her holiday projects expanded into a passion for creating all kinds of sweet treats. Being self-taught makes everything she has learned and accomplished along the way even more meaningful.
Although we share a love for baking, we each have our own specialties! Allison makes our drop cookies, cookie cakes, family-recipe no-bakes and muddie buddies, while Hannah creates our decorated sugar cookies, cakes, cupcakes, dip treats, and buckeyes.
And that’s exactly why we make the perfect duo! We each bring something different to the table while working toward the same goal: creating treats that bring smiles to people’s faces.
Sugar + Smiles grew from two unique journeys, years of cherished moments, and a shared passion for baking. To us, it’s about much more than selling cookies. It’s an opportunity to share something meaningful with all of you.
