I have always wanted to try one of Cakes by Timbo cookie designs for a Halloween cookie (taking one of his cookie classes is on my list). I decided to take elements from his candy corn cookies and use in my Crazy Jacks extra dark chocolate sugar cookies. I hand-painted the cookies with food coloring, edible paints and dusts, plus a food edible marker details for the eyes. I think they turned out ghoulishly good! 🎃
I’m really glad I carved out some time (🎃) to work on Halloween cookies this week! I’m wrapping up my extra dark chocolate sugar cookies today. These are my Wicked Pumpkin Patch cookies. I used an edible glitter base, airbrushed to add some contour and shimmer, then hand-painted some highlights/low lights to make the cookie pop!
Round Jack-o-lantern designs based off the work by Liz at Inspired to Taste and Cookies Are Everything. If you aren’t following them yet, I highly recommend that you do!
My husband was in a way relieved that I shut down the bake shop, as we’d finally not have a kitchen full of cookies and cookie packaging. But somehow that hasn’t happened, as I’m always finding opportunities to bake cookies (school bake sales, boo bags, treats for friends). Halloween cookies are my favorite, so any chance to whip up some pumpkin spice or spooky extra dark chocolate sugar cookies, I’m on it!
So proud of my 8 year old daughter, Kate. She completed her THIRD act of kindness for Raise Craze today- bringing cookies for our local department. Kate and I delivered the cookies today to the Swift Creek Police Station. The officers were incredibly kind and even gave us a quick tour of the station!

Enjoyed making some fall-themed pumpkin spice cookies for people that donated to my daughter’s PTA fundraiser, Raise Craze . I added a shimmery leaf airbrushed design to the cookies, plus some airbrushed contour details.

It’s been a minute but I’ve finally had some time to do a little cookie decorating. I didn’t realize I’d miss it so much❤️
My daughter’s school is having a picnic on Friday, which includes a bake sale for the . Of course I jumped at the opportunity to make a couple dozen cookies for the sale- a mix of Orange Vanilla and Rich Chocolate. I did a few different styles- backpacks, cutie pencils and apples, clovers, and these t-shirt cookies. I’ll post the other cookies over the next couple of days.

I am sad to announce that I am closing the bake shop. I have loved decorating cookies but am shifting focus back on my previous career in consumer insights, strategy and analytics. I have really enjoyed the past five years being a cookier and am incredibly thankful for all of your support of my work and small business❤️❤️❤️ Every “like”, kind comment, recommendation, and order placed meant a lot to me.
The good news is that I will continue to decorate cookies, when time allows, and post cookie photos/videos. I can’t wait to try out new techniques, different designs, and have more time to focus on the art of cookie decorating. And for those close friends and family that have enjoyed my creations, perhaps you’ll see more treats in your mailboxes in the near future (our little family won’t be able to eat all these cookies ourselves). 😉

Who else is excited to see the Barbie movie?!? Like most women my age, I grew up loving my Barbies. We used to laugh that Barbie inspired my career in retail as I had her Fashion Plaza😂 My 8 year old daughter has a ton of Barbie dolls and Disney dolls though is starting to age out of them a bit. It will be interesting to see if she starts playing with them again (though I wouldn't mind her moving on as the house, car, airplane, RV, and spa take up a ton of space in her playroom).

It's the last day of school here in Chesterfield County, VA! My daughter and I wanted to thank her amazing teacher, Mrs. Jones, one last time for a great second grade!
Our neighborhood school bus driver for , Mr. Phillip, is a legend around here. He is such a kind, caring man that makes riding the bus fun with music, prizes and dressing up for holidays. Even with the last few years of chaos and craziness with bus driver shortages, he's gone above and beyond to keep our kids happy and safe.
Tomorrow is his last day driving bus 351 as he's retiring. To thank him for his service, I’ve made him a “Bus Driver’s Appreciation/Retirement” cookie set. WE’LL MISS YOU, MR. PHILLIP❤️❤️❤️

I made a few tennis cookies for a little tennis party we had tonight for the girls. My daughter has been taking lessons with three of her friends for a couple years now and one of the girls is moving next month😭 I thought I did a pretty good job until my daughter informed me that “red balls” are red AND green 🤦♀️ Luckily we had plenty of cookies, so I left the red ones at home 🎾💚🎾💚

I was honored to create a cookie collection for a “Celebration of Life” event this past weekend. Nat sounded like an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and businessman. I based the designs off of the places around the country (and world) that were significant to his family- from where he and his children were born, where he went to college, places they've lived, got married, as well as favorite vacation spots. I also included cookies based on his career. The wife also provided words that described who he was, which were put on the cookies.

I thought I’d share a little video of the boxing process for my cookie orders (packing and shipping is another video). I take a lot of pride in how I present my cookies and packaging is a big part of it. I’ve also tried to be thoughtful with what I think is important, such as the impact my products have on the environment. I believe small changes businesses make to be more “green” can make a big difference over time. Therefore, I only use compostable cello bags from @nashvillewraps. I also use their recycled Kraft window and packing boxes as well as their recycled shred and tissue paper. It’s not perfect but it’s a step in the right direction.
