I want to wish everyone a wonderful and peaceful Thanksgiving and be grateful for all the blessings, no matter what comes your way. For me, some of the simplest things I enjoy for Thanksgiving is making a traditional pumpkin pie with my wonderful son.

Aunt Josie’s grilled octopus. One of my favorites!
Recipe for a 3 pound octopus:

Boil 3 quarts of water with 1 cup of white wine ( I typically use the wine I would pare it with which is a Pinot Grigio), tablespoon of Sea salt, quarter teaspoon of black pepper corn, 3 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil and a whole lemon cut in half for an hour and 20 minutes. Then drain water and let the octopus cool off. You can either refrigerate and grill the next day or after it’s cooled off. On high heat, and a hot grill brushed with extra virgin olive oil, grill octopus until you see grill marks on each side. I like to typically season it with just salt. It’s also great to dress with a drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil, cherry tomatoes, cubed feta cheese, kalamata olives, dash of oregano and red pepper flakes.

And the only thing left is a bon appétit!
