Hey everyone, it's been a while since we have had a get together. We've noticed quite a few faces around town with the college and schools so we thought it would be a great time to get together before classes start and make some new acquaintances. Wednesday, Aug 10 at 5 we will have a get together at Market Alley Wines. It'll be nice to put a name with a face before Baconfest on Friday.

The Economic Value of Historic Restoration: A Monmouth Area Professionals After Hours Event

Learn how your business can take advantage of Monmouth’s historic facade restoration grant to increase your bottom line and help improve your community.

Wednesday May 11, 2016 5:30 PM - Old Spurgeon's Store (formerly Term City) at 227 South Main Street

Businesses in Monmouth’s historic downtown district qualify for a matching grant to be used on facade restoration. Facade renovation can help turn the tide in communities—catalyzing reinvestment, creating jobs, and fostering pride of place. Monmouth is unique, and preservation-based economic development can help bring out these unique qualities. Monmouth College senior Drake Decker along with historic renovation expert and first lady of Monmouth College Lobie Stone will deliver a presentation explaining the importance of facade restoration and how it can improve the profitability of your business as well as improve our community. Paul Schuytema, Director of Community and Economic Development, will explain the specifics and procedure behind the city’s grant program.

This “After Hours” event is sponsored by the Monmouth Area Professionals and the City of Monmouth. Join us next Wednesday for a complementary beer, glass of wine, soda, light hors d'oeuvres, a casual networking opportunity, and a chance to learn some vital information that can help your business.
