Can we stop thinking we need to buy a curriculum for EVERYTHING? π
One of the easiest traps to fall into when you're new to homeschooling is thinking you need a book, workbook, or curriculum for every subject.
I get it. There are SO many beautiful resources out there. And when you're trying to make sure you're giving your child enough, it's really easy to keep adding things to the cart.
But here's what I've learned:
Learning doesn't only happen at a desk.
π The library can become your reading curriculum.
π³ Cooking can teach math, science, reading, and life skills.
π± Nature can become a science lesson.
𧱠Building can develop problem-solving and engineering skills.
π A trip to the grocery store can become a lesson in money, measurement, comparison, and decision-making.
And yesβI use curriculum. Curriculum is a tool, not the entire education.
You don't have to spend more money to give your child more opportunities to learn. π
What's one everyday activity your kids have turned into a learning experience? π
π Save this for the next time you're tempted to add just one more thing to your homeschool cart.
