Meet the orange milkwort aka the “bog Cheeto”. I’ve seen these vibrant native wildflowers in a couple spots in southern Delaware. Their flower is small, but the intense orange color helps make them easy to spot, and I think they’re so lovely closeup. 🧡

We had the most beautiful post sunset colors a couple nights ago. It didn’t look like the sunset would wind up being much, but about 15 minutes after the sun went down some nice orange and pink showed up. I love how the sky colors were reflected in the bay.

This wee, striped lady and her clover flower hope you have a good weekend.

We saw some cool wildlife in Maine—a peregrine falcon, porcupine, moose, eagles, warblers & mergansers—but one of the highlights was watching this chipmunk mama and her two teenagers zipping around our yard throughout the week. We don’t have chipmunks where I live, so it was a lot of fun watching them.

Last night’s light show. ✨ I sat for an hour after sunset and watched as the woods lit up with dozens of lightning bugs.

Also, a gentle request to please stop using chemicals on your lawns and leave the leaves if you’re able. It makes me sad to think that future generations may not get to experience the magic of watching lightning bugs twinkle on summer evenings.
