As I (im)patiently wait for fall colors to arrive, it sure has been fun to go looking for mushrooms. This little cluster of mushrooms caught my eye & as I was trying to figure out what angle to photograph them, the rotten log they were growing on split apart, and I was able to see the gills. So cool. šŸ„ā€šŸŸ«

We just got back from an upstate New York camping trip. I havenā€™t been north for fall colors in years and had forgotten just how beautiful the reds are. We had overcast skies for most of the trip, but the reflections were beautiful. šŸ

I recently spent a peaceful morning kayaking here among the bald cypress trees. Although the water level is fairly low right now, there were many birds and butterflies to enjoy at the back of the pond. This is without a doubt one of my favorite places in Delaware.

Back from a couple days of camping at beautiful Janeā€™s Island State Park. The sunsets over the water are wonderful!

Meet the orange milkwort aka the ā€œbog Cheetoā€. Iā€™ve seen these vibrant native wildflowers in a couple spots in southern Delaware. Their flower is small, but the intense orange color helps make them easy to spot, and I think theyā€™re so lovely closeup. šŸ§”
