I always want to look back at myself 3 months from now and be better than I was before. A better man, leader, son, brother, and lover. More present. Less frantic. To be able to mentor myself from the past with renewed mindset, vision, strategy, and action would be a privilege. And even more importantly to love that past version of myself and give him kudos for doing the things that made me who I am now. Like many have said before me; My hero is me in 10 years.
⬆️This👆🏼 is not something that everybody gets to experience so frequently as myself or those in my company. It’s easy to get lost in the mundane and to avoid change and growth.
I don’t believe this is the case because people are “too lazy” or “don’t want to work” or just don’t “have it in them.”
Taking massive responsibility over other people, their income, their goals and their futures has brought the fire out in me.
In the words of one of my most cherished mentors :
_______________
“Every human being has these stories. These are precious souls…. Human beings with unbelievable stories with wounds and needs and desires and dreams. What a wonderful position to be in as a leader.”
