Standing 145-foot-tall, our three-tiered cake in the sky boasts 11 candles—each weighing 250 pounds! This local landmark is believed to be the only cake-shaped water tower in the world.

We’re proud of Meat associate Larry H., from store #718 in Atlanta, for his heroic actions. While driving home from work, Larry encountered a car accident involving four college students. First on the scene, he jumped into action and safely guided the students out of the overturned vehicle.
One of the passengers’ mother said, “I am in awe of this amazing human. We call him our ‘Publix angel.’”
Because of his heroic efforts, Larry received the Mr. George Gold Coin Award. This prestigious award honors our founder’s philosophy of going above and beyond to be there for others.

We're celebrating with a look back at our very first Publix Pharmacy, which opened October 30, 1986, in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
While on a family vacation, Lory's daughter got sick and needed a prescription filled after spending hours in urgent care. Thankfully, Publix Pharmacist Kim stepped in to help.
“When we left, all pharmacies around us were closed. We visited a nearby Publix, and Kim saved the day,” Lory said.
After receiving a call from a manager in charge, Kim arrived after-hours on a holiday weekend to fill Lory's daughter's prescription.
“I can’t thank Kim and the Publix team enough. It gave us a sense of peace following an emotional few days," Lory said.
Let’s celebrate Kim and all our Publix Pharmacists during ! 💚 👏
