In a world of social media content that is curated to make it look like our lives are perfect and we have it all together all the time - especially in the sourdough baker world - let me take a moment to prove it is not, in fact, reality. 🤣😂

My sourdough starter has always been reliable - for the most part - but occasionally (usually due to my mistakes) it is not so reliable. About every 3 months or so we have a hiccup. And we have reached that time again. My sourdough starter is a little sluggish to get going.

"So what?", you may ask.

Well, it means as of right now:

1. There will be NO sourdough bread delivery to Bushel & A Peck tomorrow - Tuesday June 2 or Wednesday, June 3. I am working (and praying!) to be ready for Thursday, and then business as usual, Lord willing.

2. Thursday special offerings (and pre-orders received) will be pushed to Friday - This includes not only Bushel & A Peck but also regular deliveries to The Martelle Market, LLC and Whiffle Tree Mercantile. If you place an order at any of these locations - they will be delivered Friday.

I appreciate your patience and understanding. And I appreciate YOU!

Running a bit late this morning in Manchester. Bushel & A Peck will be stocked with some scones and Italian Herb & Parmesan Sourdough loaves by 10:00 am!

Farmers Market planning, gardening season, special orders, and stewarding my home well have been top priority this week in addition to the regular bread prep and baking.

So I have decided to give myself a little grace going forward. Each week there will be a flavored bread available as well as scones OR cookies. This week I will have scone 4 packs available, but no cookies.

As usual - special orders are always welcome (see pinned menu post).
