AJ & Jesse are the nicest guys! Before these two helped me out by buying some of my restaurant equipment, my husband and I enjoyed some of their fruit icees... on one of the hottest days, too! I love the watermelon & pine colada! My husband enjoyed the Stawberry Lemonade! You gotta try it for yourself!

Something we'll miss seeing at the cakery, for sure! I've seen people just pull up half way onto the sidewalk for some cupcakes! "Yes, kids, this is fine. Get out!" "But, mom, we're on the sidewalk!" π§π¬π€£π€£π₯°
Cleaning the cakery out a little more. Some of the greatest employees I had the pleasure of working with gifted this to me for Boss' Day. So grateful for them! Memories forever cherished. ππ§π₯°πππ»
Cleaning out the cakery a little today, just a few of the handwritten "Thank You" cards we've received over the years. No, thank y'all! This is hard.... β€π€π
To everything there is a season.
Little did I know, my last wedding cake delivery would be on March 14th, 2020. Precautions taken for COVID-19 canceled all wedding cake orders at the beginning of what would have been a bustling wedding season. As well as, canceling cake decorating events and my most favored and profitable time of year- Cherry Blossom. This global pandemic brought financial hardship.
May 2020 marked Amanda's Cakery 10 Year Anniversary; 15 years decorating cakes and baking! I had hoped to celebrate and treat you all with complimentary cake- a small token of appreciation for your continued love and support for my small business.
Twenty-twenty was set as my comeback year! A revival after three years of infertility that had consumed my life and, at times, prevented me from taking on cake orders. I had accepted the reality of not birthing my own child, especially having been told by two doctors I'd never get pregnant on my own. I was ready to move on! The cakery was refreshed with a deep cleaning, updated with a new awning, signage, freshly painted bench, and beautiful new flower containers.
Then, once again, life had other plans. Unexpectedly at the age of 41, my husband and I would be blessed with the most beautiful miracle- I'm pregnant, finally! We were in disbelief and so thrilled!

I wish I could do both, but, with a lump in my throat and teary-eyed, I've made the heartbreaking decision to, sadly, close Amanda's Cakery effective immediately.
I'm looking forward to becoming a stay at home mommy to delight in every moment with my sweet baby boy arriving soon- August 2020.

Just a reminder, no "Cupcake Day" in June due to the Coronavirus. I'm so sorry. π

We could not be more grateful or proud!! It has been an immensely rewarding and unforgettable decade of making cakes and creating memories with you all- my sweet cake family. β€
As some of you may know, my road to entrepreneurship was not the easiest. Before my employment with Karen Holleman Cakes in 2005, Iβd never made a single cake. I didnβt even know how to operate a mixer. After a very short year and half of learning from the very best cake artist, I sadly lostβ¦ we sadly lost our beloved βCake Lady,β to pancreatic cancer. With the help of friends and family, I continued her cake business. In April 2010, her bakery and home caught fire leaving nothing except a few cake pans and cake stands. With five wedding cake orders that week and the unbelievable outpour of help and love from friends, family, and the community, we made them all! Soon after the fire, I decided it was time to open my own bakery.
In May 2010, Amandaβs Cakery was established- licensed, insured, inspected by the GA Dept. of Agriculture, and ServSafe Certified.
With all my heart, thank you- friends, family, our community, and my husband, for your continued love and support for my small business. It has meant everything. Love you all! β€π€π
